About
My love for photography began many years ago, nearly 30 years at that. It was, and continues to be my escape from my “real job” and fuels my creativity every time the shutter closes.
My story is simple, I wanted to begin taking pictures with a Nikon 8008, specifically portraitures, yet I found many of the more experienced photographers were unwilling to help and share their secrets, yet I still continued to gain knowledge about the world behind the lens. I attended several workshops hosted by the photographer, and now great friend, Art Ketchum.
Through Mr. Ketchum, I came in contact with many great photographers, in particular, Bill Lemon, one of the best glamour photographers I know. After spending much time, and building a friendship, he and I began hosting workshops. I made the move from 35mm to Medium Format and now Digital, and entered the world of Glamour and Model Photography. Another great photographer I was able to learn from was Ray Sopcruk, who is extremely talented and full of a tremendous amount of knowledge on studio lighting. Together, we had our own studio in Western NY. During this time, I completed several courses at the Rochester Institute of Technology on Photoshop, and have been able to host my own workshops on the program. I currently use Photoshop, as well as Lightroom.
After a job change, I have found myself in North Carolina, and am surrounded and inspired by the wildlife this area has to offer. Glamour and Model photography are still a huge part of my photography life, yet I’m turning over a new leaf within the realm of Wildlife and Nature Photography.
I hope that you will enjoy this website, and will hopefully inspire you and educate you, just as my mentors did for me.
